Health Benefits of Coffee โ˜•

I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite things in the morning is having a cup of coffee. I love how it smells when it’s brewing as well as the taste. Now, the only things that I like to add to my coffee is Almond Milk with a dash of tumeric or cinnamon.

If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, I tend to look for a couple health benefits to help you Achieve Complete Wellness. To my surprise, there are some amazing benefits to drinking a cup of coffee and below are a few of them.

1. It boosts energy levels and fights off fatigue.

2. It has antioxidants.

3. It supports heart health.

The one thing that I’ve learned throughout the years is that the oils from coffee beans hold the majority of the flavor and many filters stop the oils from going into your coffee. If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend a French Press. Once you taste coffee from a French Press, you will never go back!!! It’s amazing!!

The Benefits of Vitamin D3

A Great Scene while we were in Barbados

Each morning, my husband and I take our vitamins which includes Vitamin D3.

One little unknown fact is the 1 out of 4 people are Vitamin D deficient. One of the main reasons for this is that we don’t get outside enough to get natural Vitamin D from the sun. โ˜€๏ธ On average, a person needs 10-15 minutes of direct sunlight every day to give the proper amount of Vitamin D needed.

Adding Vitamin D3 has several benefits and below are few that I thought that you might find interesting:

1. Aids with weight loss and a person’s metabolism.

2. Improves cardiovascular health.

3. Lowers the risk of autoimmune disorders.

4. Boosts the immune system.

5. Helps with insulin response.

6. Boosts mood.

Some foods that have Vitamin D3 include:

1. Spinach

2. Mushrooms

3. Fish – such as tuna, salmon, mackerel, sardines, snapper

4. Soybeans

I hope that you find this information helpful.

Here’s to getting out in the sun and enjoying good health!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

To Your Health with Fiber

One health tip that I wanted to share with you surrounds the importance of adding fiber to your daily routine. Not only does it help keep your digestive track healthy, it also helps you feel full, which may help over the holiday season!!! Lol!!! ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ Of course, I like to think that I will eat foods that have enough fiber in them to keep me healthy, but the sad fact is that many of us don’t get enough fiber from the foods we eat!!!

Now fiber comes in two forms which are soluble and insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber is a type of fiber that dissolves in water to form a gel-like material. It can help lower blood cholesterol and glucose levels. ย Insoluble fiber is a type of fiber that promotes the movement of material through your digestive system and helps prevent constipation. ย It does not dissolve in water.

Now both types of fiber are important and the health benefits may include:

1. Lowering blood cholesterol.

2. Lowering blood glucose levels or maintaining healthy blood glucose levels.

3. Aiding with weight loss.

4. Aiding the body in getting the toxins out of your system.

5. Maintaining a healthy digestive track.

6. Reducing risk of heart disease.

7. Maintaining healthy skin.

8. Increase in energy.

On average, a male needs to have approximately 35 grams of fiber a day and women need approximately 25 grams of fiber a day depending on you age. Check with your primary care physician on the amount of fiber you need in your diet.

Here’s to your health!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Taking Time to Relax

While drinking my coffee this morning, I started thinking about the importance of relaxation. It’s easy to forget to take time for yourself and recharge your batteries. We get so busy focusing on the day to day activities that we forget what’s truly important. First and foremost, taking time each day to thank the Lord for everything He has done for us and giving us another day is a start. Taking time to be with your spouse, enjoying nature that’s around you, cooking, baking, or working on your favorite hobby are other ways to relax.

For me, one of my favorite hobbies is crocheting. Being able to make a scarf for my husband, a baby blanket for a friend or just crocheting to have that last minute gift is enjoyable to me. Now that fall is here, I tend to crochet more as it gets colder. For some reason during the summer, my husband and I enjoy gardening so we are outside a lot and the crocheting slows down. Now that fall has arrived, out comes the yarn, my crocheting needles and a blanket that I’m working on. So, today, take a moment and relax and know that by taking some time for relaxation, it has many health benefits. There are many health studies that show that by taking time to relax each day, you significantly reduce your risk of heart disease amongst many other health benefits. So, in conclusion, as today is the first day of a great weekend, take time to enjoy it and find what helps you relax!!!!!

Pumpkin Pancakes ๐Ÿฅž

One of my favorite Fall Recipes is Pumpkin Pancakes. I think it’s because there is something about pancakes that just makes people happy. Finding Balance

I was sitting here today thinking how quickly time goes by. It’s been quite awhile since I’ve written anything for my blog and it seems at times that I can easily forget about writing. Part of achieving complete wellness is finding balance. In the hustle and bustle of today’s world, it is easy to lose sight of this. Think about what it would mean for you to have balance. What’s important to you? How do you spend your free time? For me, having balance incorporates having time for my business, being with my husband, having time alone with the Lord, having time to do things that I enjoy such as cooking, reading, exercising and of course, crocheting. ๐Ÿ˜Š Of course with that list, setting time in your schedule to do all these things is important.

So, how do you manage your time? How do you fit in what’s important to you and get the average day to day things done that we all need to do and still find time to do the things that you enjoy. Well, I have a little tip that has helped me with this and that involves mapping out my week on paper. Now I have fallen in love with the all the new planners out there in the local craft stores and how they can be used for multi purposes.

In other posts, I have mentioned that I’m a visual person, meaning that it’s easier for me if I am able to write things down so I can see it. Using a calendar or journal to write down the things you need to do in the upcoming week, things that are important to you and things you keep forgetting to do like exercise, spending 15 minutes cleaning out the junk drawer, spending time reading your favorite book and so on. It’s common to hear people say (and yes, I have said it too), “I just don’t have time to…..” Well, planning out your week, writing it down so you can visually see how you manage your time is important.

I hope this simple tip to help you manage your time and your free time helps! Here’s to achieving complete wellness in 2018!!!
