Such a Beautiful Spring Day!!! πŸŒ·

Tulips

I don’t know about you, but I love spring! Today, my husband and I did some work in our garden and everything is starting to come back to life!! Our Crape Myrtles are starting to bud, our Irises are growing and our tulips are simply beautiful!!!

More tulips!!

Indoors, we have several plants in our home and last weekend we got a Hyacinth from our favorite farmer’s market. We decided to leave it in our living room because not only is it beautiful but it gives off a heavenly scent.

Now gardening is something that we truly enjoy. Sometimes, one way to Achieve Complete Wellness is simply being in the moment. Doing things such as getting outside to enjoy the fresh air, gardening, baking, taking a walk or reading a good book is not only relaxing but may help boost your mood! Give it a try and see how it feels!!

As always, here’s to your health!!! 🌷

A Cup of Positivity

Sometimes I think about what we fill ourselves up with during the day. Of course, I do need a cup of coffee in the morning to get the day started, however, I’m not talking about the physical things that we fill our bodies with, I’m talking about what do you fill your mind with each day. Do you fill yourself up with things that are positive or do you fill yourself up with things that are negative.

Most people tend to focus on the negative and worry about problems or issues that create stress and sometimes anxiety. How to change your mindset, focus on the positive things going on in your life takes some work, but it is well worth it. πŸ™‚

Now my husband and I have a morning routine that works for us. We make our morning coffee, take time to talk about different things and then we do Bible study together. Most importantly, we pray together. I feel this is one of the biggest components in alleviating all negativity in a person’s life. With Jesus being the main focus in your life, He will always lead you down the correct path in life. As stated in Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

Also, it says in Matthew 6:25-26

Ultimately, everyone has the opportunity to figure out what is best for your life. Given everything that we have faced during the past two years, I can truly say that having the Peace of the Lord through this all has been an amazing gift.

I know that I tend to write about cooking, crafts and wellness but during my prayer time, I felt led to write this which is an indication to me that someone who reads my blog needs to hear this.

Hope all of have an amazing day!

Happy First Week of February!!!

Since this blog is about wellness, one thing for certain is that when you’re disorganized, it causes stress in your life. Stress causes a negative ripple effect in your health and mood. Physical issues such as high blood pressure, risk of stroke and heart attacks, obesity and diabetes are just a few. In terms of mood, stress can increase a person’s level of anxiety and symptoms of depression. How to become organized is a part of the puzzle that will alleviate stress.

One tip that may help is the simple process of writing things down. For me, I use a planner to help manage my week, write down things that I need to do and specific things that I need to remember. Using a planner to map out what meals you want to make for the week or times to exercise can in itself decrease stress.

I actually have this one section in my planner that I’m thinking of using it for a brainstorming page for things for my business, my blog, new recipe ideas and so on. Other ideas include writing down short terms goals that you want to focus on whether it be for the month, the week or just for that day.

One thing to keep in mind is a great quote:

“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” – Napoleon Hill

So, here’s to getting your gel pens out and writing things down!!! πŸ™‚

New Year’s Eve Lasagna

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!!! πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ I hope that all of you have a wonderful 2022 and I look forward to finding ways to Achieve Complete Wellness with you throughout the year!!!

One of our New Year’s Eve traditions is making a classic Italian dish – lasagna!!! It takes a little time to make it but it’s well worth it. An added bonus is that we have enough left overs to have for dinner tonight!!! Lol!!! 🀣🀣🀣

New Year’s Day is a day to relax, enjoy our morning coffee and reflect on things that we want to achieve in 2022. There’s a great saying by Napoleon Hill that states, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe it will achieve.” One great thing to start in 2022 is to write down your goals that you want to achieve this year because by writing your goals down, you hold yourself accountable to achieving them. Personally, I use my planner to write my goals and other tasks in.

So, here’s to the beginning of a fantastic New Year 2022!!!

Health Benefits of Lavender

One of the things in our garden that we enjoy is our lavender bush. Not only does it have the most beautiful flowers when it is blooming, it has an amazing scent that I’m sure most of you are familiar with.Β  I love gathering some of lavender and putting it into bundles so I can hang them upside down in our home to dry.Β  Once dry,Β  I tend to use them as a decoration and for the scent.Β Β  We also use essential oils and lavender is one of our favorites as it has so many wonderful health benefits.

So, here’s a list of some of the health benefits from using lavender:

  1. Β It aids in reducing anxiety and tension.
  2. Β It aids in reducing insomnia.
  3. Β Reduces muscle and joint pain as it has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.
  4. Β It’s an effective bug repellent and reduces irritation caused by bug bites.
  5. It can also help with nausea and car sickness.

Ways that we use lavender:

  1. Β We use our diffuser and put lavender essential oil in it at night. We just add a few drops of the oil to water and turn our diffuser on.
  2. We have also put a few drops of lavender essential oil on our pillows at night to help with sleep.
  3. I also makeΒ  a room spray using lavender oil along with a few other essential oils, add a little water to it and use it in any room for a nice, light scent.
  4. I have placed a few drops on lava beads that I have on a bracelet so I can smell the essential oil throughout the day.

Now, I’m sure there are many other uses for lavender oil but I just wanted to share how I use it and what for.Β  Hope you find this helpful!!
